About Cradle Lady

Cradle Lady is a private journal for your pregnancy. Write how you're feeling, save the photos and videos along the way, and look back on the whole journey — all encrypted so that only you can read it.

Why it exists

Pregnancy goes by in a blur, and the small moments are the ones worth keeping. This is a calm, private place to record them — a few words each day, a photo of the bump, a quick tap when the day is “same as yesterday.” No feeds, no ads, no one else reading over your shoulder. Just your story, kept safely for you.

Frequently asked questions

Is my journal private?
Yes. Your entries, moods, photos, and videos are encrypted with a key derived from your password. We can't read them in our database, in backups, or in storage — and neither can anyone who isn't you.
Who can read what I write?
Your saved journal is encrypted under your password, and we never keep your password or a usable key — so we can't read your stored entries and files, and neither can anyone else. The one honest caveat: while you're signed in, your content is decrypted in your session so it can be shown to you. It isn't logged or kept in readable form, and it's locked away again as encrypted data. Our Privacy Policy explains exactly how this works.
Can I add photos and videos?
Yes. Attach as many as you like to an entry. Each file is encrypted on the server before it's stored, and the storage only ever holds encrypted data — so a stray link to a file is useless without your key.
What are quick responses?
Saved one-tap answers — like “Same as yesterday.” On a busy morning you can tap one instead of typing, and it becomes today's entry.
How does the week tracker work?
Add your due date and Cradle Lady works out which week of pregnancy you're in, using the usual 40-week convention. Every entry is stamped with the week it happened.
What happens if I forget my password?
You get back in with the one-time recovery key shown (and downloadable) when you first set your password. If you lose both your password and your recovery key, your journal can't be recovered — that's the cost of a key only you hold, so keep it somewhere safe.
What devices does it work on?
Any modern browser — your phone, a tablet, or a laptop. There's nothing to install.
